Is the game still alive?

From my understanding, Dave is just seriously busy. This obviously isn't his means of income and seems to be more a project of passion which can later on become potential income.
While I've signed up to the beta testing, the most present version I have access to is 2.05. I'm dying to get any more recent version (if anyone has a more recent version, feel free to send my way). I've asked Dave if I can get access to the actual beta forum since there seems to be far more action in there (judging by the posting numbers) just so I can at least get conversations going. I don't want to spend too much time playing 2.05 when I've been told there has already been a ton of changes. Dave's been slow on the responses, but I can't complain too much seeing how he's providing us with such a brilliant set of rules.
I've been playing a lot of skirmishing rules lately that allows the gamers to bring their own models and this one definitely seems to fit my needs the most (just the right amount of simplicity while providing enough detail and granularity).

I sent an email about joining the beta a couple months ago and I have yet to hear back either. It's really too bad, as I've been looking for a set of fantasy skirmish rules and I like the earlier version, but would prefer the newest update.

Yea.. I'm afraid of getting too into 2.05 due to all the possible changes. Wish the most recent.. or at least a MORE recent beta was up. Again.. I know its a one man project and Dave is really busy.. but on various forums I frequent.. I've already heard of many who picked up Skulldred a year or two ago.. but have since ditched it due to inactivity/lack of readily available updates.

The best advice I can offer to you newcomers is to hang in there- I am sure that Dave will be back with a vengeance very soon, with the updates he's made on his blogs recently. The game is definitely worth checking back in for, and as a beta tester, you'll get those sweet rules for free. Keep checking back- even those of us who have been here since the start of the project are ready for the next iteration. Cheers to you all!

I have a quick question that you can possibly answer because I know Dave is busy... but.. I know it was thrown around before that Dave was thinking of using D8s for the game instead of the D6. Do you know if he decided to go D8s with the latest beta rules released so far? Thanks.

Hail Dredlings!
I am back from being mostly dead. Miracle max has found me a nice chocolate coated pill!
The game was on pause while I was seriously ill (see news 'I am back' for details). I am now healthy again and ready to take on the world!
Yes, Skulldred can use either d6, d8 or d10. The game defaults to d6, however the new edition lists prices for character and spell levels 1-5 for d6, and 1-7 for d8 and 1-9 for d10. You just need to note down which dice you use on your profile card and your ready to go!
This works because Skulldred uses dice totting... all the rules care about is how many dice you have to roll, and if they score a 'hit' by rolling equal or under your level. This means you can actually use pretty much any dice you prefer!

Oh, and I have to sort through the backlog of emails that piled up whilst I was sick and do a mailout welcoming everyone.
