"when a wild result is rolled on the action dice and a model is within range, the leader inspires them to perform 3 actions"
I'm probably having a senior moment but I can't find anywhere in the rules that state what the "within range" distance is. I've only played a few games so far & have been using the long span for this distance. Is that correct?

Hey, no worries. Here is the paragraph from the current book...
A leader has command over all models within 1 long span if it can draw partial or full line of sight to them. Also, the leader can always command models within 1 span, regardless of if he can clearly see them on not, as they are assumed to be yelling orders or exuding some magical influence. Raised and lowered terrain should be taken into account- so standing your leader on a raised platform will help you communicate to your troops. To be able to command, the leader must not be hidden or downed, but may be engaged in combat.
Hope that's clearer! The wild rules have a section all to themselves now!
